Century Wood Badge is the advanced training program for all Scout
leaders in the Boy Scouts of America. This includes all Cub Scout, Boy
Scout, Varsity and Venturing Leaders, as well as Professional Scouters.
Wood Badge is designed to train adult volunteers using the latest
leadership skills and techniques.
Wood Badge is divided
into two parts, the Practical Phase and the Application Phase. The
Practical Phase in SR-895 (WB 21-12) will be covered over two 3-day
weekends in April of 2008: April 4, 5, 6 and April 25, 26 and 27,
2008. Full attendance is required for each of the weekends. A key area
of this phase is the process of team development. Participants will
learn to apply appropriate leadership strategies that enable teams to
reach their highest level of performance. The participant will use these
leadership skills to develop a set of goals that they will want to
accomplish in their Scouting position.
In the Application
Phase, participants will use the leadership skills that were learned and
developed during the Practical Phase. Each Scouter will work with a
Troop Guide to help them successfully accomplish the goals that they
developed within a 6 to 18 month time period.
